There's No Place Like Home

May 16, 2012

Today is the day of my joint link up with Laura from Our Reflection! I'm so excited to share my home and visit yours. Remember when I shared pics of my home a few weeks ago? Well a lot has changed since then. We got final approval to continue living off base (I'm thrilled about it) and we celebrated by switching from a bachelor pad to a family home. We both love the changes. Except in our bedroom. It's the most BORING room in the house and the amazing Kirsten from Through the Front Door is helping me decorate it without being allowed to paint! If you have a design problem go visit her because she is awesome and she'll help you out (an amazing designer for free? yes please). For now I'll share our new favorite area in the house- our living/dining/everything room!

This is my lovely desk where I spend my time writing, designing, blogging, and reading. There's also a stock of Twink treats. Just in case.
We cleaned off our desks, took down the game posters, and bought a new rug.
We bought pillows, a side table, a lamp, and Japanese paintings. Don't worry though, the KC Chiefs blanket is still on the couch!
You can see my star garland in the window and Aaron's easel on the table. He's been drawing a lot lately and I love it.
We organized our movies and books and got rid of so much clutter. Our kitchen table is still just a card table, but one thing at a time! We moved our other rug here to tie it into the room a little better.
Aaron is an even bigger nerd than I am. So I surprised him one day after work with what I affectionately call his "nerd cave" to display his favorite toys.
A close up of our new paintings. We picked them out together and my sweet husband helped me hang them.
I hope you all enjoyed this tour of our little home! We want to see yours too so be sure to grab a button and link up below!

  2. Glad the Chiefs blanket made the cut. ;)
Oh and we didn't have a kitchen table for like 6 months.. period. It was such a pain. I wanted one SO bad, and then we almost never used it. Funny how that works huh?

  3. Hi Sue, I loved this tour of your home and this little link :) We don't have an actual kitchen table either but that doesn't really bother us. I love your work spaces. My husband wants our side by side in our home and I want him in a different room! ;)Thank you for letting us into your home <3

  4. Why was I thinking this was Friday?! Gah! I knew I should have set a reminder in my phone. If I can get this place clean AND take pictures AND upload them AND make some sort of post I will totally link up!! The odds of that all happening before Friday seem slim but here's to hoping! :)

Love your setup! Looks comfy-cozy and perfect for hanging out and watching a movie!!
