Memories

May 31, 2013

A vivid memory. Two come to mind.

In the first I am standing with Aaron, looking into his eyes. Our closest family and friends are seated around us. I'm in a beautiful white dress, he's dressed in his military blues. We're both smiling like crazy people and squeezing each others hands tightly. We each take our turn to say the simple words "I do." It was a magical night.

In the second my beautiful daughter is handed to me. I'm breathing through an oxygen mask and feelings of ecstasy are coursing through my body. She's tucked into my arms by my husband, turns her face up to mine, and looks straight into my eyes. The last 12 hours completely melted away and all that was left was Everly and me. We started into each others eyes and all I could think was "I know you. I know you." I never knew my life was missing something so vital but suddenly it felt complete.

The past 31 days have been a ride. I have loved throwing myself back into blogging. I never really stopped, just slowed down, but I missed it. I've made some awesome new bloggy friends through this challenge and I've loved getting to know people better through the different writing prompts. I didn't really know if I was going to make it to the end of the month but here I am. It was rewarding, exhausting, and so much fun. Now I have to remember to keep blogging without writing prompts!

A Year Later and Still Wonderful

Jan 9, 2013

Right after our wedding I got about 50 pictures back (I've shared a few previously) but it wasn't until today (yes, a year later) that I got the rest of them. Obviously I love them- they're my wedding pictures! I debated on sharing them since it's been so long but then I remembered that you can never have too many wedding pics. I narrowed them down to a few favorites for now and I may post more later should the whim strike me. The very last one has been shared before, but it is my absolute favorite picture from that day.

For those that weren't around a year ago here's a quick recap. Aaron and I were married by one of my best friends in Eden, Utah. It was a small to-do with just over 40 people. We had a very short & sweet ceremony, followed by a delicious dinner, and lots of dancing. I loved having something so small and intimate because I felt like I actually got to spend quality time with every person who made the trip to our wedding. Aaron is from Missouri so we had quite a few out-of-towners, and Eden is in the mountains of Utah so only a few people didn't travel far to reach us. It meant so much to have our closest family and friends there. A few days before the wedding we had a huge party at my parents house to celebrate the wedding and let EVERYONE meet Aaron (I have over 100 cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents so it was a big thing). It was so much fun but a little overwhelming (I can't imagine for Aaron since he has such a small family!) and I'm glad our actual wedding was more low-key and intimate. Everyone has a different plan for their wedding and what they want. For us this was absolutely perfect.

Even a year later I still delight in looking at these pictures. I love the way that Aaron looks at me in them. He still looks at me that way. And when he does I feel deep down inside just how much he loves me.

PS Do you like my sprained ankle? That happened at my bachelorette party. Luckily the party was the weekend before the wedding so I had 5 whole days of healing before walking down the isle. Needless to say, I wore flats at the wedding.

10 Day You {2} Wedding Edition

Apr 10, 2012

Because we like to dance like crazy people, Aaron and I had 2 wedding songs.
Our sweet and romantic one.
And the one where we could dance like this.

 two songs
  1. Marry Me {Train} Can you think of a more cheesy, perfect first dance song? I wanted to dance to Good Life {OneRepublic} but Aaron thought that was weird. So we went with my second choice.
  2. Party Rock Anthem {LMFAO} That's right, our "other" song (or real song as Aaron says) is one where everyone had to get up and dance with us. The above picture is me teaching everyone to Shuffle. With a sprained ankle. Because I'm cool like that.

Pretty Details.

Jan 7, 2012

These are the last of the wedding pictures for a little while.
The pretty details.

Getting Ready.

Dec 11, 2011

Time for more wedding pics! I have too many to choose from so they're going up in several posts. Prepping for the big day is always so fun... It was made better by my Sexy Little Bride hoodie.

I ran around in this particular outfit for a good hour at least. I call it my stripper outfit. I just wasn't ready to put my wedding dress on yet! Luckily, the end result was worth it.

The husband looked pretty damn good too.
The blues are just so sexy.

Bride & Groom.

More 101.

Nov 28, 2011

I checked more things off my 101 list.

The number one item on my list is Marry Aaron and I did that on 11-11-11. It was a wonderful, beautiful, magical day that I will always remember and cherish. It was perfect. I know nothing is perfect but even with it's imperfections our wedding day was perfect.

I checked a second thing off the list that day. #28, slow dance with Aaron. And that's just what we did. We also decided that we have two songs that are "our song." The first is Marry Me by Train. The other is Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO. If you haven't seen that music video take a minute to watch it. Aaron and I both love to shuffle. We did it at our wedding. With a whole big group of people. It was pretty much awesome.

On the 13th we boarded a giant cruise ship together for our honeymoon and checked off #71. It was amazing. More about that later though.

On the 16th we spent the day at the beach on a beautiful island off the coast of Honduras. It was so fun & even though I'm as pale as they come I only burned a tiny bit. I was proud of that fact. And we checked off #77.

On the 17th we got caught in a few freak rain storms and checked off #101, kiss in the rain. It was just as fun as it sounds.

And on the 15th we accomplished #100, Do something wild that must be kept a secret. No, I won't share.
But it was FUN.

The First of Many.

Nov 25, 2011

The wedding was perfect, the honeymoon was fantastic, we had a wonderful holiday with my family & now Aaron is on a plane back to Japan. It will take me some time to add pictures and write updates but I thought I'd do a mini one with the few wedding pictures I have so far.

Our wedding day was perfect. Truly it was. It was everything I'd imagined and more. Aaron looked so handsome in his dress blues and every time he looked at me with so much love in his eyes I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. We spent the day surrounded by our closest friends and family. There was so much joy and love from every person there, we felt so blessed.

So now to share these lovely pictures from the best day of our lives. The last one is my favorite so far. I absolutely love this man.

A Little Bit of Pretty.

Nov 5, 2011

Well it's coming. The wedding is less than a week away. I'm going crazy with anticipation. Not so much for the wedding but for the fact that Aaron will be here in 3 days and 19 hours. And yes, I've been counting hours for about 3 weeks now.

I thought I'd share a little bit of pretty for the upcoming event. This my friends is my spectacular bouquet. My absolutely fantabulous cousin Caitlyn made it for me. It's hand-crafted, hand-dyed, hand-painted & completely original. It is my FAVORITE detail for the wedding and I love that I'll be able to put it in a vase and keep it forever! There's nothing more to say, it's absolutely perfect.

Red Lips + Red Heels.

Nov 4, 2011

Tonight I went out to dinner with some of my favorite people to celebrate my impending wedding. It's ONE WEEK AWAY! Can you believe it? I sure can't. But we figured since it's coming we should celebrate. So we got all dressed up and went to dinner at Mikado for some sushi & Japanese food. Not as good as Japan but I'll take it. I decided since I was getting all fancy anyway I might as well cross something off my 101 list (#53) so I threw on some red heels and red lipstick to make my outfit awesome. Of course being the genius I am, I forgot to take a picture of our whole group. Suffice it to say that I love my girlfriends and it was a fantastic night!

Wedding Projects.

Sep 29, 2011

The past few days have been spent on wedding projects. I'm the kind of person that will debate something with myself for hours in my head but once I've made a decision I can hardly wait to get the thing done. Patience is not exactly my virtue! I had an idea for the seating place cards but couldn't muster the enthusiasm to get them done. I took that as a sign that I just didn't like them very much so I set my mind to coming up with something new. A few hours later these little pretties were born.

I was also debating over how to make our guest book. I wanted something cute & creative. I found an idea for a mad lib & although I didn't like the wording of the one I found I absolutely loved the idea. So again, I set out to make my own. Now I can hardly wait for people to use them!

Help Me Pick.

Sep 26, 2011

The wording is the same but I can't decide which picture I like the best for invitations to our wedding party. Any suggestions & help is appreciated!
