A Detail.

Jun 27, 2011

I can barely contain my excitement over this particular detail.
I have my wedding dress!
Unfortunately, I can't share that with you on my blog for two reasons. The first is really I want it to be a special when people see me in it on my wedding day. I want to awe. The second is more important though, Aaron occasionally reads my blog and he can't see it before the wedding! So instead of sharing the dress itself I'm going to share a small detail. This is the purple flower I got in Japan. At the time I just thought it was a beautiful flower. Now it's the accent for the sash on my wedding dress. It's absolutely perfect and the fact that it's from Japan makes me love it even more!

Save-the-Date.

Jun 26, 2011

Today my fabulous friend Jessi & I made Save-the-Date cards for the wedding. The hardest part was deciding exactly what we wanted to do, I had so many fun ideas it was difficult to narrow them down. Once we'd made that decision they were fairly quick and easy. I love doing crafty things, they make me so happy! I have many more do-it-yourself projects planned between now and the wedding. Mostly because projects keep me busy and happy, but more importantly they keep me from dwelling on Aaron being so very far away, at least for a few hours. I've also got a very specific picture in my mind of what I want everything to look like and since it's so hard to find things that are perfect I'd rather just make them myself. So far I have save-the-dates, my veil, our wedding cake, thanks you's and favors, bridesmaid gifts, bridesmaid bouquets, centerpieces, our guest book, my wedding scrapbook, our wedding video, my garter, the men's boutonnieres, place tags and possibly our wedding invitations on my do-it-yourself list. I'm so excited for these projects, I wish I could do them all now but most have to wait till we're closer to the wedding. Not these little beauties though!

Father's Day.

Jun 19, 2011

Everyone thinks their dad is the best. I know mine is. I always have been and always will be daddy's girl. When I was little I wouldn't eat dinner until daddy came home and sat with me. I would fight with my mom over who's husband he was because at age one I didn't understand the word. I also didn't pronounce it correctly which is why he's now my mom's "hubban."
My daddy is my hero.
He is the kindest person I know. He likes to see the good in people and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He's sweet and smart and has a great sense of humor. Hardly a day goes by that my dad doesn't have a new joke for me. When I was five my dad would tell Shelly and me "When I was a little girl..." and we'd spend hours arguing with him over the impossibilities of him ever being a little girl. Secretly though, I was afraid I'd one day grow into a boy! My daddy is such a wonderful person and I feel so blessed to have him always in my life.
Happy Father's Day Daddy!
I love you!

In Honor of Love.

Jun 15, 2011

Happy Anniversary to my parents!
Today is their 26th anniversary.
My parents are that couple you see at the movies who still hold hands after 26 years of marriage.
They're that couple that make out on the couch when they think their kids are in the other room.
They're still happy together and very much in love.
They make you believe in love!
They are a wonderful example to me and all of my siblings.
I feel so lucky to be their daughter.
I love you mom and dad!

S&A in Japan.

Jun 14, 2011

These are just a few pics of Aaron and me from my trip to Japan. I told him my whole goal was to take a lot of pictures of the two of us. If he ever got sick of me making him take pictures with me he hid it well! These are my favorites, enjoy!

Best Trip Ever.

Jun 13, 2011

I'm a little late updating about Japan but I have a good reason- my baby sister got married 10 days after I got home! And boy was it a crazy 10 days. But she's happily married now and we can go on with our lives. Japan was absolutely amazing. The weather was perfect, I wore shorts the whole time and only needed a light jacket once or twice. The people were friendly, they're so polite and happy all the time. The country is beautiful, it's so green and colorful. But of course the best part was being with Aaron. He is such a wonderful person. We had a great time wether we were out exploring the country or just snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie together. We enjoyed every moment together and the time to say goodbye came too quickly. Our being engaged when I left Japan wasn't something either of us had planned but it's what worked for us and we're very excited to be married and spend our lives together. If you want to know the "story of us" click here. I've put together a wedding website since we'll both have family coming from out of town to celebrate with us. Now on to the pictures!
